A prime lamb farmer from southern New South Wales has won the Combi-Clamp competition sponsored by Regulin®. The competition ran from last July to December attracting more than 1,500 entries from Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and Western Australia.
Chris Last from Muttama, South of Cootamundra, was excited to take delivery of the handling machine worth almost $10,000 and said it was the first time he’d ever won a prize of this value.
“The combi-clamp will be a fantastic addition to the farm,” Chris said grinning from ear to ear. “I’ll keep it on my fattening block and it will certainly make life much easier when yarding and marking.”
Chris joins his 3,000 first cross ewes to Poll Dorset rams in his prime lamb operation for the supermarket trade. He used Regulin for the first time last year and entered the competition at his ‘local’ Landmark branch in Wagga Wagga just 120kms away.
Russ Davis, the National Manager for Regulin, which regularly improves lambing percentages by 20 per cent said: “We’re delighted to present this beautiful piece of equipment to Chris. We tried to contact him over Christmas with the good news but – as all farmers should – he was enjoying a well-deserved break at the beach, and it’s taken us a few weeks to get it to him.”
Wagga Wagga Landmark Branch Manager Peter Dorset added the branch had about 50 entries for the competition and was thrilled that one of their customers had won the much sought-after prize.
